Getting Ready In The Bridal Suite.

The ‘Dom Perignon’ is located in the main house with beautiful views over the gardens of West Tower and beyond! The opulent suite includes some wonderful features such as a king size four-poster bed, original fireplace, roll top bath and walk-in shower. This lavish suite is all yours from noon on the day of your wedding and, with its full-length mirror, it is the perfect place to get ready for your ceremony. When it comes to size, the bridal suite is second to none. We know how much space you’ll need when getting ready and all your bridal party are there to help. You’ll have enough room to hang all of the dresses, to do your hair and make-up and to enjoy a glass of something fizzy!

It’s also a dreamy backdrop for all those lovely pre-ceremony photographs with your bridesmaids and whoever is walking you down the aisle. These are the moments you want to remember and cherish just as much as the second you say ‘I do’.

The House and Gardens

"We’re so proud of our beautiful grounds at our wedding venue and the stunning rolling Lancashire countryside that surrounds us, and we’re also delighted to have ten glorious acres of grounds to share with you! When the sun shines, we know you’ll want to make the most of it. West Tower gives you an endless selection of breathtaking backdrops for your wedding photos allowing you to create perfect memories that will last a lifetime!

Our terrace is an idyllic spot for welcome drinks and canapés, and our manicured lawn is perfectly flat which makes it ideal for garden games, especially if you have younger guests to entertain. When the weather is kind, the gardens at West Tower become an invaluable element of your wedding day – from the moment you walk down the aisle, to those memorable conversations with friends and family under the moonlight before you retire to bed. We know that photographs are an important aspect of every wedding day, capturing this most magical event so that you can look back on every detail in years to come. The gardens at West Tower offer an abundance of outdoor photo opportunities, from the wishing well to the steps leading up to the house, the beautifully matured trees and surrounding views.

Of course, if the weather allows, there’s no need to go inside after dark. We believe that lighting is as important outside as in and our down-lighters ensure West Tower looks stunning at night. If you want spectacular… we’ll create it!"

THE PAST

West Tower was built circa 1875, by Edgar Musgrove, who purchased the land two years prior. Musgrove was a wealthy cotton broker, part of Liverpool’s thriving trade industry. For 150 years, the majority of Britain’s cotton came through Liverpool; arriving at the docks, where it was sent on to Lancashire’s textile mills, before returning back to Liverpool to be shipped across the globe. During this period, the majority of wealthy merchants and cotton brokers lived in very fine houses in Liverpool and the surrounding countryside. Due to its secluded countryside location, it is likely that West Tower acted as a real sanctuary for Musgrove, away from his busy life in the city, as it does for our guests today.

AND PRESENT

Many years later, West Tower was transformed from a grand family home to a boutique hotel and restaurant. It remained this way for around 15 years until 2010, when the property was bought by its current owner, Paul Bolton. Since acquiring West Tower, Paul has a made numerous changes to the site, including the addition of more bedrooms and an extension to the ballroom, as well as multiple refurbishments. Paul closed the restaurant in 2012 to focus solely on weddings and private functions, transforming it into the award-winning exclusive venue it is today. Paul, along with his wife Laura – who is responsible for the interior design of all the rooms, are continually working to improve the customer experience at West Tower. The most recent development has been The Stables which was completed in October 2019. The Stables house our brand-new bridal dressing room, The Cristal Suite, as well as an additional 9 guest bedrooms. West Tower have just acquired a further 2 acres of land adjacent to The Stables, offering another stunning photograph location for our couples, and paving the way for more interesting development opportunities.
