Jess & Steve's St. George's Hall Liverpool Wedding
Straight into it.
Jess wasn't bothered about having any Bridal Prep photos for her wedding day so it was straight to St. George's Hall right in the heart of Liverpool. I've photographed quite a few weddings in Liverpool City Centre and the hall is one of the best and most impressive looking buildings in town and given some of the world's most famous and iconic landmarks are in Liverpool, that's some statement! The day started with me meeting up with Steve and his Groomsmen outside St.George's Hall and I took the opportunity to grab a few photos of everyone waiting around outside for the Bride's arrival. St.George's Hall in Liverpool is a popular and historic venue for weddings located in the heart of Liverpool and a Grade I listed building, with its' exceptional architectural and historical significance, making a stunning backdrop for your wedding photographs. Over the years, St. George's Hall has played host to many famous musicians, including the Beatles, Queen, and David Bowie. It has also been used as a film set location, most recently the new Batman film with Robert Patterson starring as the caped-crusading superhero. It must be good fun seeing your wedding venue appearing in a movie!

Here Comes The Bride.
St. George's Hall has a range of ceremony rooms to choose from, including the Great Hall, which is the largest room in the building and can accommodate up to 600 guests, there's also the Concert Room and Jess & Steve's pick, the Small Concert Room perfect for a smaller wedding. Jess didn't go for the traditional style, matching Bridesmaid's dresses and instead let the girls wear their own choice of dress while carrying bright and colourful wedding flowers in yellows and oranges with sunflowers and gerberas amongst the foliage. Steve and his Groomsmen wearing matching suits for a more classical look, a great example of mixing the old and the new. You can tell from the photographs that Jess and Ste were having a great time, having lots of fun and enjoying their wedding day with lots of smiles and laughter throughout the ceremony and dancing back up the aisle after signing the register.

After The Ceremony
Once the ceremony was over and Jess and Steve had been congratulated by all of their wedding guests, family and friends we headed outside to do all of the more formal group photographs, they usually only take around 10-15 minutes to get them done, they hopped into the waiting wedding car- a stunning Imperial Viscount Laudette from Love & Carriage, ready to whisk them off to Wavertree Town Hall for their wedding reception. celebrating with a glass if bubbly on the way... CLINK CLINK!!

Wavertree Town Hall
Wavertree Town Hall is a historic building located in the Wavertree area of Liverpool, England. It was built in 1872-7 in a Gothic Revival style and is a Grade II listed building. It features a prominent clock tower, ornate carvings, wonderful decor and a large assembly hall. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, including as a library, a school, and a registry office and it is now a restaurant but is also used as a venue for events, meetings and of course weddings receptions!
Every wedding has so many wonderful moments to remember but at Jess and Steve's there was one that I personally don't think I will ever forget. They have a couple of pet dogs that weren't invited to the wedding so they had their dog minders for the day bring their pets to Wavertree Town Hall for a few photographs outside, after the usual fussing, running and jumping about dogs do when they see their owners, Jess was worried about the dogs jumping up and ruining her dress, that was the least of her worries. One of them got a little bit too excited at seeing the bride in her dress, decided it needed a wee and then proceeded to cock its' leg and do it's business on Jess's wedding dress leaving her howling.
It really was one of those absolutely priceless moments.

The Wedding Reception
These old buildings like Wavertree Town Hall are so full of features, character, style and decor they're going to give you some amazing opportunities for getting some great photographs in and around the place, rustic charm with an old painted wooden front door, ornate chez long and grand wallpaper, even making the most of the red carpeted stairs there's a lot of options for something a little bit different from your wedding photographs.
One thing I really do need to mention though is the staff at Wavertree Town Hall, they're fantastic and after shooting as many weddings as I have I can honestly say that having a great team there for you on the day really does make a huge difference to your wedding day, nothing is too much trouble for them, they will go out of their way to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible oh and the food is very special too. I've made a note to myself to make a visit back here myself to try out a few of the items on the menu, I'm getting hungry now just thinking about it!

Party Time
How many Dj's wear light up trainers!? Well John at Apex Disco definitely does and quite a few other funny outfits and turns to entertain your wedding guests, he'll be right in the middle of the party with you and your guests, all great fun and one hell of a party setup!
