BHRC / STAGBI

“BHRC are the Governing Body for Harness Racing in Great Britain and STAGBI is a breed society and was established to provide credibility and integrity to the Standardbred and Trotting Horse in Harness Racing and other equestrian sports throughout Britain and Ireland.”
Liverpool County FA Youth Cup Winners

“As a county we believe it essential to uphold our traditions and embrace the legacy of our past. However, we are very much a progressive County FA which is happy to celebrate its history without residing on it. Although the Liverpool County Football Association has been the governing body of all association football in the county for over 120 years, today we are an energetic, innovative and ever-changing organisation.”
Everton Women End of Season Awards

“Everton Football Club is an English women's association football team based in Liverpool, England, that competes in the FA Women's Super League, the top division of English women's football.”
Imagine the scenario, a packed room as your event gets underway, winners are announced and come up to stage. They receive their award and then that awkward moment happens, the photographer gives direction, takes a few photos and everyone waits then with nothing happening, not knowing what to do next. It's awkward for the award winner, it's awkward for the award presenter and the audience waiting too.
As a documentary wedding photographer I've learned what makes for the best photographs of people so let's get away from the "Grin and Grip" photos on stage. Sure, I'll capture the winners receiving their award on stage but in a relaxed reportage style, capturing the event as it unfolds. We can still get those grin and grip photographs but they'll be off stage, the winner is more relaxed with a genuine smile and it'll be a private moment, with just me the photographer for their official portrait. Add an event branded backdrop off stage, such as a pull up banner and with better lighting, those images will just pop.
If you've looked a the wedding photography pages on my website you have probably already seen that I don't like having my photograph taken and the same relaxed way in which I approach weddings will be the same way I will photograph your awards event. It might sounds daft but the main thing about the whole event isn't the actually the awards being presented, it's about the people receiving the awards and that's what I do best, photographing people having fun and enjoying themselves, it's about capturing the reactions and all those special moments, not just for those people up that are up on stage either receiving or presenting awards to the winners but those watching in the audience too.
That's what makes an event like this special- the people. Without them, there wouldn't be an award to be given out, they've clearly done something to deserve it, so why not capture the event looking at it from that point of view instead. Relaxed, documentary event photography in a reportage style with a few formal portrait photographs too!
So if you're tasked with planning an awards evening and would like to discuss what i can do to promote your event, feel free to get in touch!
As well as Awards Presentation Events I also cover various Sporting Events too.
