Lake District Wedding Photography• Jess & Lee 22.12.2017

A long, foggy drive up to the Lake District for Jess & Lee's Abbey House Hotel Christmas Wedding but totally worth it. I love shooting weddings at this time of year, yes the cances are the weather probably isn't going to be great but with all the Christmas decorations and the tree up it gives you a chance for something a little bit different and everyone just seems to be in an extra good mood and looking forward to Christmas Day. The fog never lifted all day but Abbey House is a beautiful hotel and it's set in some amazing grounds, 14 acres of gardens and woodland with the ruins of Furness abbey accessable from the grounds, well worth a visit. I'd have loved more time outside but brrrr it was chilly!! Well done to Jess and Lee for braving it! The hotel rooms are huge and they're great for getting the bridal prep shots without everyone falling over each other. Bridesmaids looking glam in dresses from JJ's House with Jess stunning in her beautiful wedding dress from The Bridal House of Torrisholme. Lee and the rest of the Groomsmen looking dapper in their waistcoats and tails from Debenhams. Jess and the girl's hair and make-up was in the very capable hands of Caron Prickett Hair and Make-up and with the floral arrangements supplied by Adeles Brides, the main wedding cake and delicious looking cup cakes baked and decorated by Cal from The Sweetest Things. Jess & Lee are a great couple, bags of fun but Lee's daughter Alexia defintely stole the show, so much love there between them all and her reaction to the wedding guests seeing a photo of her Dad's bum during the speeches was just brilliant. Talking of speeches, Jess' Dad killed it with this one, it's great when the Father of the Bride brings up all those embarrasing stories of the Bride growing up and he absolutely nailed it, had me laughing that much it was hard to remember I was there to take photos, such a funny guy! Congratulations to you both and a huge thank you for letting me be a part of your special day and of course, Best Wishes for the future...
